1/6/2016 Congratulations!Congrats to all who have found this blog helpful in passing your exams. When I first wrote it I had no idea it would attract as much attention as it has. At this time I can no longer receive anymore essay editing requests. Please continue to help each other to become the best teachers you can be! Sincerely, Melissa Voshell (Blog Author)

Help, I have failed GK math 6!times. I don't even know where to start. Any suggestions? I usually run out of time not today just didn't know enough but I pass every practice one I take.

I'm not sure if you are doing this but it sounds like if you are running out of time you are trying to solve all the problems by hand from start to finish. Don't do this! For any problem asking for to solve for x just plug in the variables found in the multiple choice options. Also - there were SOO many quadratic equation, perimeter, area, and mean, mode, range, and median questions that if you nailed those you shouldn't be too far from passing.

Even though you pass all the practice tests, you should see which areas you have trouble with. Since the actual test is longer, there are more questions in each area. You need to practice the specific types of questions you get wrong on the practice tests. I went on Khan Academy and practiced over and over again the type of problems I had trouble with until I understood how to do them. The essay is what I am having trouble with; I wish I had taken the test before they raised the limit on the passing score.

I do plug in for x and it seems I feel I am ready going in but they throw me and ask me a couple I have never seen before. I felt I was totally comfortable with the mean median mode etc until the last time asked about central tendency, so then it made that easy problem difficult for me. I usually get 180 not far from passing Comments are closed.
