Flute Lessons

Lessons are offered to Third Grade through Adult students at any level.  Beginners will learn the fundamentals of tone production, body position, and reading music.  At least a year or two of piano study before beginning flute lessons is recommended, but not required.  Students will learn standard repertoire for the flute, but will also be exposed to new music as their playing level progresses.  Listening to other flutists, both live and by recording, is strongly encouraged as well as participation in flute events (i.e. local and/or national flute conventions).  Students are expected to perform in studio recitals when scheduled and participate in an ensemble at school or church.  Assistance in preparing for auditions and competitions is available.  I am also happy to help students shop for a new flute when the time comes.  Making music on the flute is fun! And I look forward to working with you as you begin, or continue, your journey in flute study.
